Controls
iPod shuffle pays respect to its bigger siblings with a circular control pad that puts the "go" in ergonomic. Click the center button to play and pause. Click the outer buttons to move back, skip forward, and adjust volume.

Pop the iPod shuffle into the included dock and sync with iTunes. View iPod shuffle dimensions.

The shuffle switch lets you mix up the iPod contents, or play playlists in the order you want. View larger. Clip
Thanks to a built-in clip, iPod shuffle goes with anything. Clip it to your sleeve, lapel, coin pocket. No matter where you wear it, iPod shuffle speaks volumes about your style.

Shuffle switch
Embrace your inner rebel: Flip the shuffle switch to mix up iPod shuffle's contents. Flip it again to play your handpicked playlists and albums in the order you synced them from iTunes.

Battery indicator
Green means go, amber means you're low, and red means you've almost hit zero. But with up to 12 hours of battery life, the iPod shuffle may keep rocking even longer than you do.

Headphone jack
The headphone jack does double-duty as a dock connector. Flip iPod shuffle upside-down and drop it into the included dock. Connect the dock to your Mac or PC for a quick sync and charge. Away from your computer? Charge on the go with the optional Apple USB power adapter.

Craptastic! 1 by .. mu ()
Bought this for a friend only to find out in months time the battery

doesn't charge right!

When I informed Amazon and the seller who sold it to me they refused to do anything about it.

They suck don't trust them and get stuck with a malfunctioning I-pod.

Ipod 4 by .. K. Thomas (West Virginia)
This Ipod came SUPER-FAST! I like to use it while running. The clip stays tight and is very convenient. Holds a good charge and comes with everything needed to start playing music right away. Would have been five stars, but it can be purchased pretty much everywhere for the same price.

the best mp3 player for running and workouts 5 by .. James Aero (Columbus, OH)
If you like music when you workout, this is the player for you. It's VERY small, so it's easy to clip onto your shirt or hat. No need for the armband or any of the extras.

Controls are simple. If you have iTunes, getting music on and off is simple. And even the 1GB is enough for 250 songs, which is plenty to keep most people entertained.

Sure, it doesn't have some of the features as other players. No screen, no FM radio, no voice recorder. But it has what I need, which is great for me.

Headphones, like the rest of the ipod headphones, are no good. Invest a few bucks there and you've got a winner.

Bottom line-- I love this thing. In fact, I have pretty much stopped using my iPod Classic since this handles everything I need so well.

Ipod as fashion accessory 5 by .. Allan M. Hunchuk (Pennsylvania, USA)
For my wife's birthday, I got her a purple Ipod Shuffle (1 gb) and gave her my Grado SR 60 headphones for stationary listening (the stock ear buds are for on the go--we do need something better, though). She loves the Shuffle. It is tiny, clips on to a shirt pocket or collar, and holds a lot of tunes. As many are now eschewing full length CD's for downloaded singles, one can pick just the songs that one desires. Nice. In an informal survey in one of my classes, almost all of my students preferred downloading what songs they wanted and had pretty much stopped purchasing regular cds. I still buy cds--regular and SACD--but I'm used to buying albums, not singles (okay, when I was a kid, I used to buy 45's).

The Ipod shuffle is easy to use. It is highly portable and small. The sound is adequate. One could use a headphone amplifier and better headphones, but that just takes away from the portability. The Shuffle sounds pretty good with Grado SR 60 cans (but they are big and the cord is rather too robust). Anyway, my wife is happy (and thus, so am I).

You can't go wrong with the Ipod Shuffle. It looks good, sounds good, and is easy to use. Now, I just wish that I had sprung for the 2 gb version. C'est la vie.
